Alternative Polling Station
With the municipal elections taking place on 18 March, COKO hosted an Alternative Polling Station for Amsterdammers who are not eligible to vote, organised by the Here to Support foundation:
Participation in free elections is a human right. On March 18, municipal elections will be held in Amsterdam. Residents of the city will then elect a new municipal council for the next four years. But there are also Amsterdammers who are not allowed to vote, for example because they do not have a postal address, do not have the correct papers, live in an asylum seekers' center, or have only recently been granted refugee status!
Are you not allowed to vote in the municipal elections? But do you want your voice to be heard?
Here to Support is opening an alternative polling station where your vote counts!
We invite you to share your thoughts on what is important for our city.
After the elections, we will present these ideas to the new city council and the mayor.
